Today I talk about the Papa John’s receipt social media boondoggle. I’m pleased with how well they handled the issue where an employee wrote a defamatory comment on a receipt and the subsequent outcry from social media. If they had not been listening to their social media channels, or had not answers, this black eye would have been so much worse.

Happy 2012 to all my friends and family! I’m so excited that I have you in my life. Today I want to talk about saying thank you. Short and sweet, we need to say thank you more often.

HUGE win for Applebees. Service was really poor! Meal took well over 45 min to come out of the kitchen. No refills on drinks and poor communication from the server. Manager rocked and comp’d our meal for the 7 of us. Totally unexpected! This one action GUARANTEED we will be back!

This weekend I had an email and phone call with a casting person who is casting a new social media minded reality show called the “Escape Routes.” A very Amazing Race type show where I had to pick a partner for the project. After talking to a few people i chatting with my sweetheart, I decided to say no.

It’s that time of year again… holiday spirit, Christmas tree’s and lights. I love this time of year and the goodwill that spreads around. Busy season with many holiday parties, gatherings and bell ringing. I love bell ringing! I love you kids!

Today I had the pleasure of visiting a local mall and seeing Madeline and the Little Chute High School Bell Choir Perform. I was so jazzed to be asked to see this pretty intimate performance. While I was there I got to thinking about how important the little things, like this are. When you are a child, what lasting impression do you send when you make time for the small things?

This also translates to your personal life and networking. if you remember to smile, a thank you card or note…. that goes a long way!

I just love seeing Emma and Drew laugh and giggle. Nothing is better! We need more laughter in this world. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had more smiles and laughter?

Today I’m talking about the occupy movement and the end game. What is the point of all this noise. Certainly they are protesting for a cause, but what cause? What problem do they want to solve and what is the end game here? Kill all big business? There seems to be so many voices and so many messages, I’m finding it hard to hear the true message through all the white noise.

Today is Madeline’s 17th birthday. Born 11-11. What an amazing day. She was born on the same day as her Great Grandmother Regina Clifford who would be celebrating very 100th birthday if she were still alive. The number 11 has some great significance in the Clifford family. Great Grandma was the 11th of 11 kids too. We have a lot to learn from that great woman. Learn from others are you grow to and someday have your own family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADELINE!!

Today I’m in Oshkosh and recording on my iPhone. I have been listening to Steve Jobs book called iCon and the topic of learning from mistakes has come up. How would society be if we took a page from this book and actually learned from our mistakes.

Things are just going so well, at home and at work. Meeting so many great new people and I love it!

Emma is sick at home, boo for her and some friends have sickness going around too. Thoughts and prayers are with them.
