id="top" />Today I want to talk about Clara and her willingness to stand up for the little guy at school, even if it’s not the “cool” thing to do. Clara has a tendency to gravitate towards the people who are siting by themselves at the lunch table or alone in class. She has many friends at school with disabilities. She has won a few community service awards for her thoughtfulness. What a true hero in my mind and an example for all.

Her love in this area has led me to help, albeit in a much smaller way, a kid by the name of Austin who is trying to win a wheelchair accessible fan. I have been spreading his story around social media and trying to drum up virtual support. He has an amazing story and is worthy of your vote!

Please follow link & use code 813 bit.ly/IP67j7

This morning during my chat with my father, he told me of Grandma & Grandpa’s house on Sylvania Road (the house he grew up in). The house was built in 1939 and the land was essentially purchased sight unseen. They saw the land at 11 pm at night using headlights to scope out the property. They had another property pending and had to act quick. Turns out the house was built on property that backed eight up to the 3rd tee of the east course at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY. Neat to learn a bit of history around the house I spent so much time at.

<iframe

She came running to his side and offered him a HUGE hug. He broken down in tears and they just melted there for a moment.

What an amazing outpouring of love for ones mom! We all have moms and they are so important. Moms sacrifice so much and what showed on TV needs to be played in every household in the world. We need more love and appreciation for moms and motherhood in general. Not just on mother’s day, but every day.

A few days of wins and one pretty big loss. In the grand scheme, not a huge deal, but you have hope and it didn’t happen. I had spent the last 10 months working with a music related internet start-up in Milwaukee. I was their community manager and did it on the side. I loved the people I worked with. You help build buzz for an idea almost from the start with hopes of watching it bud into a HUGE enterprise. So many awesome people and just like that… “We Are Going Another Direction.” There was a bit of appreciation for what I had done, I need to be fair, but no goodbye’s– nothing. Just changed passwords within minutes and then BOOM…

Sad indeed. I feel like I failed. I’m not used to this feeling. This new opportunity made me stretch my skills and i’ll miss it.

THANK YOU for allowing me to shine, or at least think I was shining. I hope you make good on your offer to allow me to play in the sandbox again. We shall see.

Oh what a storm the @PostCrescent has started with what seemed like a harmless article in the Saturday edition of their newspaper. The president of the PC, Genia Lovett wrote a column titled “Post-Crescent journalists shouldn’t have signed Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker recall petitions” The piece really opens up a can of worms in my mind. This is such a polarizing article or editorial, not sure what to call it actually. The article leads with talk about journalistic integrity and transparency. The discussion about bias and what employees can and can’t do on their free time also touched upon. You MUST look at the comments.

I could not get enough of the comments, refreshing my browser several times a day to see the new ones. I spend a good part of the day calling and texting friends to see if they had seen the article and to get their take. I needed a second opinion to see if I was way off base thinking this was blowing up to be huge. Well I was not far off base at all.

All seemed well till I saw that this article written by Genia, was not really written by Genia. The same article showed up on the Green Bay and Fond du Lac newspapers also *facepalm*. OH NO!

I love the PC. I read it daily and have MANY great friends who work at the PC. I love what they do and how hard they work. This reflects so poorly on those great people!

Such food for thought about the constitutional rights of employees and then this…

What happened to transparency? Or is this the new transparency?

Sadly the message of the article is lost on the method in which it was distributed.

Read more here –> http://www.postcrescent.com/article/20120324/APC0101/203240566/Genia-Lovett-column-Post-Crescent-journalists-shouldn-t-signed-Wisconsin-Governor-Scott-Walker-recall-petitions

<iframe
