This week has been a big social media week for me. I’m planning a few speeches for events in the coming weeks and today was the new North Social Media Breakfast. One thing that has been on my mind lately is when to charge and when to give it away for free. It is a tough topic to tackle and one that I do take seriously.

Aaaarg When will it end. More snow and here it is the 20th or April. We had a 75 degree day last week…where;s spring?!?!?!?!

Today I’m co-speaking with Jess Dennis of Red Shoes PR fame at Leaderfest. I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with her… what a treat. Our topic is how to be a killer advocate for social media at work. I hope it gets recorded!

I’m excited about this topic and its one that I’m passionate about. Many businesses are scared to embrace social media. I came from a culture that was 100% scared of the tools. I look forward to help inspire the next generation of leaders to do great things with social media.

WOW I have learned so much. Its hard to put it into words what’s happening! This morning i attended on of the BEST New North Social Media Breakfast #NNSMB I had ever attended. Being around like minded people in this type of setting was just so powerful!!!

The state of Wisconsin is in unrest at this time. So much passion and emotion on both sides. Just amazing the emotion… WOW!

Audi is running a huge ad campaign aimed indirectly at their competition in the luxury auto segment. The main gist of the campaign is that Audi is “New” Luxury while the other guy is “Old” luxury. Audi is running a Trade up to New Luxury” contest. They asked for people to tweet the answer this question, “How do you define progress?”

My tweet was “Knowing when its time to lead and knowing when to follow! #ProgressIs http://audi.us/ProgressIs”

I was selected as one of the top 10 finalists… WOW!!!

I was given the “old” luxury item of an old dinner jacket… and I now have the job of trading it up to a new item with the grand prize being an Exclusive California Weekend Driving at the Audi sportscar experience and win $25,000 for the charity of my choice! How GREAT is that?!?!?!

Yesterday I was part of the first social media for business class. An amazing opportunity to take what I know and funnel that to budding business in the valley. The class just one part of a big social media puzzle..but its a start and I feel it was well received. I’m excited to share and to learn. I leered a trick or 2 last evening!

I’m also gearing up for a speaking engagement for University of oshkosh next week. HOW COOL IS THAT!!! I’m going to be speaking to the social media club on campus!

My network never seems to amaze me or let me down. I am so blessed by the contacts I have. I attended the New North Social Media Breakfast this morning and it was all about real estate. I know nothing of real estate but it was great to hear how others were using social media tools to help build leads.

Also talked about Tommy’s Cub Scout Arrow of Light and Clara’s big 12 birthday today!!!

Well unemployment day 7 is coming and going and the Clifford family IS JUST SO BLESSED. I have no less then 12 potential business and job opportunities in front of me at this moment. Now to be fair, none of them are actually making money but things are moving forward and I can’t complain. Like I said, we are being watched over…. THANK YOU social media community. It amazing whats happening!!!

Lets think about some truly great ideas. Chances are…they aren’t mine So many just killer ideas, Google, Apple, Youtube, Ebay… once right after the other. Look at Apples stock price and then look at Dell. WOW that tells a huge story. Innovation makes the world go ’round!

Ever seen a comment online just set people off? Well I watched it first hand this week and its not pretty. One comment sent in the heat of the moment on facebook, just ballooned and went nuclear all in the matter of a few hours. People using all CAPS, yelling, and unfriending. Just stunning what can happen.

The moral of the story, PLEASE think before you post!!!!!!
