Last weekend, I went on a daddy daughter date with Madeline just to talk, or in my case listen. What was important to her needs to be important to me. Boys, family, college…all need to be important. The communication that is set up between Madeline and I is so important. As a part time dad, it’s so important to talk to your children and know where they are in life.

How many times do you hear that someone “hates this” or “dislikes that” and it doesn’t come off in the nicest tone? This week dear Emma came home to tell me that she had dinner at Sarah’s. I knew they were having fish and knew she might not like that. Instead of saying she hated it or really disliked it, she said “Dad, that fish was not my style!” How awesome is that? I love the tone that she took.

Can you imagine if hate was stricken from the book and we replaced it with “Not My Style?” Think about it.

Happy Snow, happy Friday and happy new Orleans. I leave for my GUA trip to New Orleans on Monday. So excited!

Today I discuss taking time to slow down and enjoy what’s around you. Don’t be that person who works from 7 am till 11 pm all in the name of family when you have no time to spend with them. Take time to smell the roses!

Another amazing Clifford family weekend with the big kids is under the belt. October is here and fall is in the air. A quick chat about good leaders and what makes a normal leader a great leader??? Today is the 10th anniversary of the terror bombings of the World Trade Center. I reflect at that moment and where I was on that day. I took a trip to New York City a few weeks after and I share my story. So many images being shared, I had to add my 2 cents to the mix. I added a few pix I took from my NYC trip to the video.

TommyLog – Yummy Sushi

Over the weekend, the Mrs and Jody (my ex) went to get sushi at the Osaka restaurant by the mall. Such great sushi. I once thought that the only good sushi place was the Koriana.

Tommy took over the lawn mowing duties this week and did one heck of a good job. Kinda caught me off guard how excited he was to mow, but if he wants to do it, then go right ahead!

I’m helping Jody with her DVD collection and making backup copies for her soon to be ex husband. As i’m making dups it really hit me how sad it is that their entire 8 year marriage can be boiled down to 34 DVD’s worth of memories. Is this how we want to be remembered?
