WOW… it’s really amazing how a little wind can make such a big difference. Well the people of Appleton found out the hard way. I was watching the storms from my Green Bay local but knew it was bad when all my friend at the City Center were out of power. That’s pretty major stuff.

What I came home to, well you can see by the pics, not very pretty. THANKFULLY no losses of life or real damage other then some inconvenience. A power outage for a few hours and come tree cleanup, not a big deal. But our family is so blessed. Some families were out of power all weekend long. Make sure to thank the WE Energies guys for working so hard. They really pulled through this weekend for the peeps in Appleton.

I have so many things to be thankful for. I have the BEST friends in the whole world and I wanted to share a few gifts and thank you cards that I have received from friends this past week. Marc Busko is a friend I met while speaking at Kimberly High School. he is a DECA master and national award winner. I’m not sure what I did but he sent me a Quote Quest shirt in the mail. THANK YOU for that kind gesture!

And then there Green Bay Greg. Not a lot needs to be said about him except he is just covered with Awesome! I appreciate you and your kind gesture!

I received an email from a long lost college roommate of mine from BYU, Kevin Shelley. – Love Kevin. He told me of the death of a mutual friend from our sophomore year at BYU. The thing that touched me so much was that Kevin got to chat with her just days before she passed. She told Kevin that I was the first person she met at BYU and the positive impact I had on her live…even after 16 years. WOW!
Makes you think that impact and mark will you make? Do you do stuff just for today or do you plan for the future?

Today, one of my best friends, lost his sweetheart to cancer. What a loss… and a sad day for all who knew her and Rick. Rick has always been my biggest advocate throughout my work career at Banta and beyond. Always cheering me onto greater heights and seeing this all unfold is just rotten. Hearing this news has just crushed me. I’m rarely like this but I had to share.

Today is Mashables Social media day. We are planning a huge get together at Waverly beech at the tiki bar in back. Its always great to get together with good friends and just talk turkey. LOVE IT!

Lunchtime chats are back with my new job… SAY IT WITH ME!!! HECK YEAH!!!! So excited to work at a place where I can enjoy lunch and do a quick video or 2 or 3 w/o the HR police breathing down my neck. Nothing like good old “pig vomit” clamping down on ya. Well breakfast this morning rocked. Met some new friends and enjoyed their company. Always great to meet new people! Also @webjunkie applied for an IT position at HC Miller. Wouldn’t it be great if he got the job. Oh man I could die…

Today i got the best phone call from a ex co-worker I had not heard form in almost 10 years. What a treat to be able to reconnect. He saw a posting I made on linked in and wanted to say hello. Things at work with the transition are going well. Change beings out the best and worst in people. Had a wonderful lunch with a old sales friend. Boy how I will miss those great people at my old working place.
